Michael McKay
President
Mike started his career in the Canadian Armed forces where he spent 20 years as an aeronautical engineer. In 1992, Mike was selected from 5300 candidates to be one of Canada's next generation of Astronauts. Mike retired from the military in 2001, and seeking ever-greater challenges, began work with PixeLINK in 2002.
As President, Mike provides strategic direction to the company and ensures that PixeLINK provides the best products to our customers and the most value to our shareholders.
Mike has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Military College and a MBA from the University of Ottawa.
Well respected by his peers at PixeLINK, working with Mike is akin to working with…well an astronaut! Always calm, always collected, always thinking.
Kevin Cooper
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Kevin brings to PixeLINK, 14 years and a wealth of expertise in electronics and digital imaging sales. Classically trained in electronics, Kevin quickly found out that his true love was to marry the needs of the customer with the capabilities of the organization.
Prior to joining PixeLINK, Kevin was the Americas Sales Manager at DALSA Corporation, in the Vision for Machines division. In his seven years at DALSA, he was responsible for developing and supporting the Americas sales channel, comprised of manufacturer's representatives and value-added resellers (VARs). Kevin also worked closely with several major OEM customers to enable them to integrate digital imaging into their products.
Today, Kevin is responsible for coordinating all sales activities worldwide within PixeLINK. But true to the spirit of great salespeople, Kevin continues actively to listen to customers and attempts to solve their problem and with the highest level of professional conduct and competence.
John Fairbairn, C.A.
CFO
John Fairbairn brings to PixeLINK 24 years of accounting experience, garnered at various firms in positions ranging from senior financial officer to auditor.
John spearheaded the installation of PixeLINK's integrated manufacturing and accounting system-just one of many ways in which he has helped the company build a solid financial foundation.
Counting beans and lining them up in the right order is always important, but John also brings sound human resource management skills to the table to bring the very best of out people.
Chock-a-block full of common sense, John will always present the what-if scenarios that will help the team see problems in a different light and provide leadership when it comes to assessing financing and capitalization options.
Nick Bulitka
Manager of R&D
Nick Bulitka comes to PixeLINK with a background in electro-optics and device physics. He has a Masters degree in Engineering Physics from McMaster University and has spent his career involved in CCD image sensor and optical design. He is a detail-oriented Engineer who places an emphasis on ethics and meeting deliverables .
Prior to joining PixeLINK as a Research Engineer, Nick was a Member of Technical Staff at JDS Uniphase involved in the design of passive optical devices. Before that, he was a Staff Scientist at DALSA designing and evaluating CCD sensors. He brings a wealth of experience in optimizing image quality from digital cameras and understanding what makes image sensors tick. His algorithms have been used in PixeLINK's cameras.
Nick progressively assumed more senior roles with each company he has been with. At PixeLINK, this has been no different. Now as Manager of R&D, Nick's task is to bring new camera products to market with a top-notch group of engineers in his department.
